We’re already making waves with the recent launch of our brand-new clubhouse, Pro Shop, state-of-the-art golf simulators powered by Trackman and newly opened 18-hole mini golf course, to accompany our 18 Hole Championship Course, and 9-hole Par-3 Course. But that’s just the beginning; there’s plenty more on the horizon as we gear up to introduce all-new short game facilities and driving range, complete with Top Tracer technology.

About the Role & You

  • PGC are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Golf Operations Manager on a permanent full-time basis.
  • The suitable candidate will report to the Director of Golf and will further develop and oversee our golf shop and golf operations department.
  • You will be a part of a supportive and friendly team, have opportunities for professional growth and development and work in a picturesque environment.

The Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the entire golf shop operations, such as:
    • Leading the day-to-day operations
    • Retail, sales and merchandising
    • Timesheet and competition management
    • Course yield maximisation
    • Cart fleet hire services and maintenance
    • Leading Pro Shop staff and assisting with training and development
    • Staff rostering and timesheets
    • Overall golf shop and golf services profitability
  • Ensuring a high level of member satisfaction is always being achieved in respect to our golf shop and golf operations;
  • Continually develop all aspects of the Club’s golf business with a focus on exceeding member and guest expectations;
  • Assisting and supporting the Director of Golf in coordinating, planning and delivering the Club’s small portfolio of corporate, charity golf days and large visitor groups; and
  • Assisting the Director of Golf in developing golf shop and golf operational policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current and relevant, in addition to workplace, health and safety compliance.

Your Qualifications & Attributes

  • Current PGA member (highly regarded)
  • A high level of business acumen, integrity and professionalism
  • Management experience in a high service level and premier member golf club environment
  • An understanding of core golf club operations and key golf related business drivers
  • Experience using MiClub golf timesheet and competition software
  • Ability to understand and develop financial reports
  • Strong retail and event management experience
  • Neat, tidy and professional personal presentation
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to inspire and lead your own small team and to liaise and work alongside various department heads
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and training staff
  • Equipment and asset management experience
  • RSA certification (or willing to obtain)

The successful applicant will be available to work on Saturdays and will participate in weekend events as required.
The final package and incentive structure will be negotiation based on the successful candidate’s level of experience.
